USA Rare Earth announced that the Round Top project has the potential to produce nearly half of the minerals on the USGS critical minerals list. This made the company a strategic asset during the US-China tech war, as these minerals are essential for national security and economic stability.

USARE successfully produced 99.1% pure dysprosium oxide from Round Top ore and manufactured its first generation of sintered NdFeB magnets in Stillwater, Oklahoma. These permanent magnets are essential for EV motors and wind turbines—a supply chain previously dominated almost entirely by China.

USA Rare Earth debuted on NASDAQ via a merger with Inflection Point Acquisition Corp II (SPAC) under the ticker USAR. The stock jumped over 70% on its first day, fueled by political tailwinds from trade tariffs and US-China decoupling. CEO Joshua Ballard emphasized the chain's importance to national defense.

USARE acquired Less Common Metals, a UK-based rare earth metals and alloys manufacturer, for $100M in cash plus 6.74 million shares. This expanded their capabilities from mining into advanced metals processing, creating a more vertically integrated platform.
